Poplars celebrate golden mark with vacation

LEETONIA

Tom and Penny Poplar of Leetonia celebrated their 50th anniversary with a vacation at Secrets Royal Beach, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Their children are Laurene Poplar Jones of Merritt Island, Fla.; Julie Poplar Hughes of Boardman; Victoria Poplar Korzecki of Columbus; and Eric Thomas Poplar of Sebastian, Fla. Three grandchildren, four step grandchildren and one step great-granddaughter complete the family.

The former Penny Lehmann and Mr. Poplar were married July 11, 1964, at St. John Nepomucene Church in Cleveland. The couple are members of St. Charles Church in Boardman.

Mr. Poplar retired in 2009 from Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation in Boardman, where he was vice president of retail services.
