GWRRA to meet for a corn roast

SOUTHINGTON

Gold Wing Road Riders Association Chapter I-2 will have a corn roast at 2 p.m. Aug. 10 at the American Legion Post 751, Warren-Burton Road. There will be food and prizes. All bikes are welcome. For information call 330-637-5191. The next regular monthly meeting will be Sept. 4 at the Sunrise Inn in Warren. Dinner will begin at 5:30 and the meeting, at 6:30.

Library will offer crochet projects

LEETONIA

Leetonia Community Public Library, 181 Walnut St., is offering crochet sessions.

Make a cover with cotton yarn for a Swiffer duster at 5 p.m. Aug. 14.

Versatile granny squares will be the project at 5 p.m. Sept. 15, and learn to crochet ear warmers at 5 p.m. Oct. 20.

There is no cost for the projects. Participants should take crochet hooks and yarn.

Healthy kids day to be at church

MINERAL RIDGE

First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., is having a Healthy Kids Day for community children grade 6 and under and their families from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 16.

This community event will include a livestock petting zoo, art and craft stations, hygiene demonstrations, emergency vehicles, healthy food and door prizes. There is no admission cost.

Dinner to aid Salem family

CANFIELD

Andrews Hall at Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Road, will be the site of a spaghetti dinner from 2 to 6 p.m. Aug. 17 to benefit the family of infant Colton Price, who was born premature at 30 weeks and has spent several weeks in NICU.

He is the son of C.J. and Amanda Price of Salem, and the dinner will help them with the financial hardships they are facing.

The cost is $8 per plate for adults or $5 for children. Tickets are available at the door. Family and friends are hosting the dinner.

Stitches in Time will meet Aug. 20

SALEM

Stitches in Time is an opportunity for people who enjoy knitting, crocheting and cross-stitching to gather with others from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 20 at Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St., Room 23.
