Flood warning remains in effect for Trumbull County

VIENNA

A flash flood warning remains in effect for Trumbull County until 7 tonight. At 3:50 pm , National Weather Service Doppler Radar continued to indicate light showers over much of Trumbull County. There were still pockets of heavier rainfall that could produce another quick half an inch.

Radar estimates and rainfall reports indicated that around 2 inches of rain fell over much of southwestern Trumbull County in under 1 hour. This combined with rains from last night caused some flooding issues, mainly low lying areas and underpasses.

The water continues to recede and should flow into area creeks and rivers through 7 pm.

According to the NWS, most flood-related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross bridges, dips, or other low spots if water covers the roadway. Never try to cross a flowing stream, even a small one, on foot or in a vehicle. Turn around, Don`t drown! Report flooding to the nearest law enforcement agency so that they may take appropriate action to close flooded roadways. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.
