Magic show planned at library

EAST PALESTINE

East Palestine Memorial Public Library, 309 N. Market St., will celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program at 1 p.m. Monday with a special program about the science of magic, Fizz Bang Boom Show, starring Professor Zap.

All ages are welcome to attend. Summer reading grand prizes will be awarded after the show.

Macy’s will host ‘Shop for a Cause’

Easter Seals and Youngstown Hearing & Speech invite customers to participate in Macy’s 9th Annual National “Shop For A Cause” charity shopping event on Aug. 23.

Shopping passes are available at Easter Seals and YHS locations and can be purchased for $5 each.

All proceeds will benefit the many programs services offered to help children and adults with disabilities and special needs in our community.

The one-day-only shopping event was created to support local charities and has helped raise more than $44 million for charities across the country since 2006.

Entry-level ham radio classes set at ITT Tech

YOUNGSTOWN

Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club will conduct classes beginning in September for the entry-level Technicians Class license.

Classes will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings at ITT Tech, 1030 N. Meridian Road.

There is no cost, but you must register by Aug. 29 and buy the Technicians Class Book by Gordon West, WB6NOA.
