LaJuna R. Brown, 25, of the 400 block of Washington Street Northeast was released from the Trumbull County Jail on Thursday after posting $15,000 bond, charged with felony drug possession after police found 9 pounds of suspected marijuana in his home Wednesday night.
Police were called to his home at 9:31 p.m. Wednesday by a neighbor, who suspected a burglary had just been committed at Brown’s home because the neighbor saw three men she thought had just come out of Brown’s apartment.
Officers found the door to the home was slightly ajar and entered, finding that an upstairs room appeared to have been ransacked.
They also found two digital scales, a jar with suspected marijuana residue, a plate that contained suspected heroin and three gallon-size plastic bags containing marijuana residue. No one was inside.
Officers obtained a search warrant for the residence and found a large, black garbage bag containing about 9 pounds of suspected marijuana, a bag of marijuana seeds, $505 in cash, a small amount of suspected crack cocaine and prescription medication.
The street value of the marijuana is more than $60,000, Warren police said.
When Brown came home, he was charged with felony drug possession and felony heroin possession.
A not-guilty plea was entered for him Thursday in Warren Municipal Court.
