YOUNGSTOWN

The Junior League of Youngstown will host its 5th annual Kentucky Derby Party fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. May 3 at the DeBartolo Stadium Club, 577 Fifth Ave., at Youngstown State University.

The event will feature a hat contest, watching the Kentucky Derby, dinner and dancing. Gift baskets, vacation packages and Walt Disney World passes will be auctioned.

Individual tickets and table reservations are available by calling the Junior League office at 330-743-3200 or visit www.jlyoungstown.org. Donations can be made at the website through PayPal.

Heading the event as fund development chairwoman is Kim Urig. Sable Beshara, Mallory Naffah and Maggie Matune are co-chairwomen.

Other members who will participate in the Derby fundraiser are Deb Liptak, Jessie Kinsley-Wright, Doris Bullock, Annette Camacci, Susan Berny and Barbara Banks.

Proceeds will support the development of the League’s focus of helping area children improve nutrition, giving them the tools needed to improve their academic performance.

The Junior League is a nonprofit organization and is a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International.
