Tara Maria Pietrobono of Canfield and Joseph Peter Metzger of Youngstown were united in marriage in a 1 p.m. ceremony Nov. 30, 2013, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.

Thomas and Lucy Peters of Canfield are the bride’s parents, and the groom is the son of John Metzger of Boardman and the late Elizabeth Jeanne Metzger.

A reception followed at the Palermo Center of St. Lucy Church, Campbell, and they spent their wedding trip in Gulfport, Miss. The couple reside in Youngstown.

The bride wore her mother’s gown from 1977, which was sheer chiffonette and pearled alencon lace with a matching mantilla attached to a lace cap.

Tia Peters, sister of the bride, was her maid of honor. Matron of honor was Maureen Metzger-McCarty, the groom’s sister.

Bridesmaids were Maria Crowley and Jena Minnie, cousins of the bride; Amelia Metzger, niece of the groom; and Jennifer Resch. Addison Guffey was the flower girl.

Attendants wore persimmon-colored gowns.

Best man for his brother was Robert Metzger.

Groomsmen were James Metzger, the groom’s brother; Steven Metzger, cousin of the groom; Stephen Lewis; Michael Molnar; and Thomas Peters, brother of the bride. Ring bearers were Luke and Benjamin Metzger, nephews of the groom.

The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in fine and professional arts from Kent State University. She earned a teaching certificate in language arts, grades seven to 12, from Youngstown State University.

The groom graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in American studies. He is employed as property maintenance coordinator for Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. in Youngstown. He served 12 years in the U.S. Navy.
