Coleman Chapel CME Church, 1102 Highland Ave. SW, will mark its Men’s Day program at 3 p.m. Sunday with guest speaker, the Rev. Kato Aden of First Baptist Church in Mesopotamia.

Crossing Paths

HERMITAGE, PA.

Crossing Paths, Don Reed Ministries, is planning its spring banquet at 6:30 p.m. May 9 at the Brentford House with Jack Murphy, “Murf the Surf,” as guest speaker.

Murphy, a Christian motivational speaker, gained notoriety in 1964 for the “jewel robbery of the century” when he and a partner stole the J.P. Morgan Gem collection and the Star of India, the largest star sapphire in the world, from the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. He spent 21 years in New York and Florida prisons and was released in 1986.

Labyrinth walks

The Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road, will begin its guided labyrinth walk season Sunday, weather permitting. A short presentation on the “Spirituality of Labyrinths” will take place at 2 p.m. in the center, followed by a guided walk on the theme “On the Path to Rebirth.”

Other themed walks: 6:30 p.m. May 13, “On the Path to Healing”; 6:30 p.m. June 19, “On the Path to Emancipation: Freedom of Mind, Body and Spirit” in correlation with the Juneteenth holiday; 6:30 p.m. July 15, “On the Path to Growing”; 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14, “On the Path to Accepting”; 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16, “On the Path to Peace”; and 2 p.m. Oct. 12, “ On the Path to Awareness” with presentation on “Spirituality of Labyrinths” in the center.

First Friday Club

Dr. Peter Feldmeier will be the featured speaker when the First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown meets Thursday at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St.

He is a professor of Catholic studies at University of Toledo.

His topic will be “A Skillful Response to the New Atheism.”

Live drama

YOUNGSTOWN

“Faustina: Messenger of Divine Mercy,” a live theatrical one-woman drama, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave.

The production is sponsored by the Diocese of Youngstown Office of Evangelization.

Admission is $8, and the program is suitable for age 12 and older.

The drama will be performed by actress Maria Vargo and directed by Leonardo Defilippis of Saint Luke Productions.

In “Faustina: Messenger of Divine Mercy,” audiences experience firsthand the spirit and life of Polish mystic St. Faustina, whose encounters with Jesus have inspired a worldwide devotion to Christ’s Divine Mercy. A modern story within the drama offers audiences a personal connection to current moral issues.
