CreativeBridge Coalition (CBC) will host Luv In, a fundraiser featuring Youngstown’s top rock bands of the 1960s, including the Human Beinz, the Executioners, the Holes in the Road and the Pied Pipers.

The event will be May 4 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Fireplace Restaurant, 2075 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland. Proceeds will benefit children’s music-based programs.

Original members of the four bands will be on hand to greet attendees.

The Human Beinz (originally the Human Beingz) were signed to Capitol Records in 1967, the same year the band released its top-40 song “Nobody But Me.” The members are John Belley, Joe Markulin, Mel Pachuta, Gary Coates and Mike Tatman.

DJ Carl Severino will provide music from the ’60s, and Jerry Centifanti and his band will perform with members of the four bands.

The Luv In will feature a cash drawing and silent auction, including items from hit TV shows “Big Bang Theory” and “Breaking Bad,” as well as autographed items from the Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga and Crosby, Stills & Nash.

“I’m thrilled to have everyone get a chance to reconnect with these bands and the guys who pioneered local rock music,” said Dan Marshall, co-founder if CBC.

Bill Bodine, also a co-founder, noted that the proceeds will be used on projects in the Mahoning Valley.

Both Marshall and Bodine are former Youngstown-area musicians.

People unable to attend can still donate to the organization at CBridgeC.org.
