Dulcimer expert to present concert

SALEM

Dulci-More: Folk and Traditional Musicians will host Madeline MacNeil of Berryville, Va., in a concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Dale Shaffer Research Library of the Salem Historical Society, 239 S. Lundy Ave. Admission is $10 with an additional $5 covering all children in a family.

MacNeill is a best-selling author of mountain and hammered dulcimer books for Mel Bay Publications. From 1978 through 2006, she was the publisher of Dulcimer Players News, a quarterly publication devoted to both hammered and mountain dulcimers.

Ensemble blends Syrian, other styles

Kinan Azmeh’s City Band will perform a concert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Penn Avenue at Clinton Street. It will be the final concert of the season for the Friends of Music series.

Kinan Azmeh’s City Band is an ensemble that reflects many styles: classical, jazz, and the music of Kinan’s Syrian homeland.

‘Million Dollar Quartet’ returns

“Million Dollar Quartet,” the Tony Award-winning musical inspired by a true story, will return to Playhouse Square July 8 through Aug. 3.

Milsap, Wiseman inducted into Hall

NASHVILLE, Tenn.

Ronnie Milsap, Mac Wiseman and the late Hank Cochran are the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The 2014 induction class was introduced by Kix Brooks during a news conference Tuesday at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The trio will be inducted later this year.

“I anticipated and hoped for it a long time,” Wiseman said of his selection in the veterans-era category.
