Police arrest two

CAMPBELL

Police arrested two Boardman residents Sunday on felony drug-possession charges.

At 1:40 a.m., officers on routine patrol in the city noticed a set of headlights in the dirt fields along the river near Casey Industrial Park and investigated. The two occupants of the car — 20-year-old Ashley M. Cooper, of Arlene Avenue, and 22-year-old Daniel L. Beck, of Mathews Road — said they had been night fishing.

A search of the car produced remnants of suspected marijuana cigarettes, a bag of suspected marijuana, a crack pipe with residue and a hypodermic needle.

Cooper and Beck are charged with felony possession of drugs, along with possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia. Beck, who said the bag of suspected marijuana was his, also is charged with misdemeanor possession of drugs.
