AKRON

The Cards improved to 6-0 on the season as four third-inning runs were the difference over the Irish (3-5). Andrew Armstrong was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Jon Saadey was 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Christian Lowery went 1 for 2 and drove in a run. Drew Beck homered. Gino DiVincenzo picked up the win on the mound.

Springfield 22, United 5

HANOVERTON

Ryan Kohler had four hits, four RBIs and scored three runs for Springfield, while Hunter Snyder had three hits, three runs and five RBIs and Dalton Donachie tripled, drove in a run and scored five times. Garrett Beech had two hits, two RBIs and scored a run for United.

South Range 17, East Palestine 4, 5 innings

EAST PALESTINE

Ryan Miller had three hits, including a double, and Bill Goodall added a single, a triple and five RBIs for South Range (8-2, 3-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier One). AJ Melnick added two hits and three RBIs. For EP, Justin Fristik had two hits and two RBIs.

Girard 7, Newton Falls 0

GIRARD

Kyle Harris (4-0) started and gave up two hits over six scoreless innings, striking out six and walking four for Girard (9-0, 5-0 All-American Conference Blue). Isaiah Dunivang pitched a hitless seventh, striking out one. Harris had two hits and two RBIs and Evan Standohar had two RBIs. Derek Walton and Justin Humphrey had hits for the Tigers.

Lakeview 1, Hubbard 0

LAKEVIEW

Davy LeMasters struck out 11 in a complete game shutout and also drove in the game’s only run to lift Lakeview over Hubbard. LeMasters gave up three hits and walked four for the Bulldogs (4-3, 1-2 AAC White). His second-inning sacrifice fly that scored Anthony Senter was the difference. Vince Sferra had four strikeouts and walked four in a complete game for Hubbard (3-8, 1-6 AAC).

Champion 19, Youngstown East 0, 5 innings

CHAMPION

Chris Steigerwald went 4 for 4 with four RBIs for Champion, while Zach Zigmont added two hits and three RBIs. Chris Miller, Seth Thomas, Michael Turner and Austin Dodrill combined on a no-hitter.

Mathews 7, Maplewood 1

MECCA

Alex Bagaglia scattered eight his and three walks for Mathews (4-4, 3-1 Northeastern Athletic Conference). Bryan Leipply had three hits and two runs batted in for the Mustangs, Mike Kennedy had three hits and Bryan Oatridge had two RBI. Maplewood (2-4) got two hits each from Mike Palm and Josh Muresan.

Oak Glen 9, Beaver Local 1

NEW CUMBERLAND, W.VA.

Caleb Jackson singled, double and had an RBI for Beaver Local. Josh Beck added a triple.
