Causes of all three fires are under investigation.

The first vacant house fire was reported at 521 E. Myrtle Ave. at 11:13 a.m. The two-story house, which had an unsecured back door and all utilities shut off, was a total loss with damage set at $4,000. The house had been vacant for more than one year.

At 5:03 p.m., firefighters responded to a blaze in a three-story house under renovation at 37 and 39 Tod Lane, where they estimated damage at $2,000.

All utilities there were shut off, but a torch, propane tank and roofing materials were on the roof, and tools and building materials were inside.

Neighbors said a group of men come at night to work on the house.

At 10:24 p.m., a fire was reported in a vacant two-story house at 214 S. Glenellen Ave.

Firefighters let the house, valued at $50,000, burn down as they tried to protect adjacent houses. However a house at 222 S. Glenellen was damaged.

No injuries were reported.
