BINGO, CARD PARTIES

St. Nicholas Great Hall, 764 Fifth St., Struthers, will be the site of a card and bingo party April 29 sponsored by the church’s Altar and Rosary Society. It will begin at 6 p.m., and the donation is $5. Lunch is included, and there will be a basket auction.

St. Paul Church, Route 170, New Middletown will be the location of a Spring Fling sponsored by its Altar Guild. It will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday and will include refreshments, bingo, cards and door prizes. Admission is $5.

BOOK SALES

Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, will sponsor its annual used book sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. There also will be records, sheet music, videos, CDs and DVDs for sale. A snack bar will be available.

FLEA MARKETS

St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, is having a flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 2 and 3. Vendors are welcome. Kielbasa, haluski and other foods will be available. For information call the Rev. Andrew Gromm at 330-799-8133.

FUNDRAISERS

Good Hope Church, 98 Homestead Drive in Boardman, is sponsoring a rigatoni dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. There also will be a concert by the Mahoning Valley Choir and a basket auction. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $4 for children. Takeouts will be available. Proceeds will benefit the Dorothy Day House.

Poland Lions Club will host a garage sale and basket raffle fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 at the Poland Masonic Lodge, 7685 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road. There will be more than 30 gift baskets that will include such items as a Swarovski crystal necklace, overnight stay at Mountaineer Resort, a Kindle and a Canon camera. The drawing will be at 2 p.m., and the winner need not be present. Pastries and coffee will be available. For information call Cathy Duck at 330-750-0423. Donations for the garage sale can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 3 or May 10 at the Masonic Lodge. All proceeds will benefit local charitable projects of the Poland Lions.

SALES

Clarks Mills United Methodist Church, 3813 Hadley Road, Clarks Mills, Pa., is sponsoring its Spring Bling Thing, which includes craft, bake and rummage sales. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There also will be a basket auction and lunch. For information call 724-699-2723.

First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., Columbiana, will have a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday (half price day) and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday ($1 a bag; clothing and shoes are free). Included will be a bake sale, lunch counter, silent auction and a jewelry and purse table.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have its annual garage, attic and basement sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 2 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 3.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Junior Women’s League of Canfield is recruiting vendors for its 45th annual Fall Market on the Canfield Village Green. This year’s event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 20. Vendors include home-based businesses, art and craft merchandise and nonprofit organizations are welcome. Proceeds will benefit the community and provide scholarships for local high school students.
