Dec. 8 trial set for TaShawn Walker

TaShawn Walker, 26, of Baytown, Texas, will go on trial Dec. 8 in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court in the Oct.26, 2013, shooting death of Richard Rollison, IV, 24 at the Sunoco gas station on West Market Street.

During a hearing this morning in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, Walker’s new attorney, Lynn Maro, told Judge Peter Kontos she will need additional time to prepare for the trial. Walker’s trial date had been set for May 12.

Court officials say Maro was recently retained by Walker to represent him. During earlier hearings, the Ohio Public Defender’s Office has served as his legal counsel.

Walker is accused of killing Rollison a short time after Walker left a Warren Township tavern and accused people of celebrating the death of Walker’s brother, Taemarr Walker, 24, one week earlier.
