The Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Chapter, is sponsoring its 10th annual Forget-Me-Not Gala May 3 at Tippecanoe Country Club, 5870 Tippecanoe Road. The theme will be “Remembering Me” at the sit-down dinner. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7.
Tickets are $75 per person and patron tickets are $125.
Shorty and Elba Navarro of Boardman are the 2014 honorees, who will be acclaimed for their support of the Alzheimer’s Association. Mr. Navarro is the owner of GM Stadium Superstore in Salem and has been a philanthropist in the Mahoning Valley for many years. His wife taught in Youngstown Schools and is retired. She also has been a member of many organizations in the educational field and in the Hispanic community.
The master of ceremonies will be Jim Loboy of 27 WYTV, and musical entertainment will be provided by Tommy Lee Thompson.
The sponsor for the Forget-Me-Not Gala is Stadium GM Superstore.
Aim Nationlease, Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation, Guardian Elder Care Corporation, Humility of Mary Health Partners Development Foundation and Windsor House Inc. are gold sponsors. Silver sponsors are Atrium Centers of Salem, Brookdale Living-Clare Bridge/Sterling House Youngstown, Comfort Keepers, Denise DeBartolo York, Home Instead Senior Care and Stifel Nicolaus.
There will be a silent auction, and Komara Jewelers, the diamond sponsor, will donate a diamond pendant necklace for the auction.
The auctioneer will be Chris Roman of Roman Auctioneers of Canfield.

Proceeds of the event will support those living with Alzheimer’s, their families and caregivers who live in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.
More than 5 million Americans are afflicted with Alzheimer’s, and about two-thirds of those afflicted are women.
