Workers threatened during armed robbery at Austintown BK
AUSTINTOWN
Three Burger King employees were threatened with weapons during a Thursday armed robbery.
Officers arrived at Burger King, 5310 Mahoning Ave., at 11:10 p.m. after a 911 call from the employees. A male and a female fled the restaurant after taking an undetermined amount of cash.
The employees saw two people approach the east- side main entrance wearing all black with ski masks. Two of the employees attempted to lock the doors, but the pair forced their way inside.
Once inside, the man held a knife to two of the employees in the kitchen. The female took the third employee to the back office, held a small handgun to the employee’s head, and demanded money from the safe and drawers. Once she received the cash, she poured water over electrical equipment and fled.
