State fire marshal seeking information on Salem arson

The state fire marshal’s office is seeking the public’s help in catching the arsonist it says torched a home at 654 E. Third St. at about 11:30 p.m. March 15.

State Fire Marshal Larry Flowers said authorities want to hear from anyone who saw anything unusual around the time of the fire or “may have heard someone speaking about the fire with an unusual level of interest or knowledge.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Salem police at 330-337-7811 or the state fire marshal at 800-589-2728. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification of the arsonist.
