Chorale to present spring concert

The Mahoning Valley Chorale, under the direction of Kris Harper, will present its annual spring concert at 3 p.m. April 27 at the Lane Event Center, 8387 Tod Ave.

Admission is free to the public. A free-will offering will be taken.

Titled “Let’s Go to the Movies,” the concert will feature music from films from 1939 to the present, including “The Wizard of Oz,” “West Side Story,” “Born Free,” “Beaches,” “The Full Monty” and “Frozen.”

More than 20 gift baskets will be auctioned at the concert, and there also will be a raffle.

The concert will feature vocalist Kiyan Taghaboni, a sophomore vocal-performance major, and Dominic DeLaurentis, a junior music education major, both from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University.

The Mahoning Valley Chorale rehearses Monday evenings at Good Hope Lutheran Church, 98 Homestead Drive.
