POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent police activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:

GIRARD

April 10

Criminal mischief: Someone tossed eggs at a home and a car in the 400 block of Mosier Road.

April 11

Theft: Numerous medications were removed from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Patricia Drive.

Criminal mischief: Someone shot BBs and pellets at a residence in the 100 block of Olive Street.

April 12

Citation: Police responded to a vehicular accident near West Liberty Street and Marshall Road before citing 23-year-old Anthony J. Colla of East Fifth Street, McDonald, on charges of operating a vehicle impaired and failure to control a motor vehicle.

Domestic violence: Jessica M. Gordon, 31, of East Prospect Street, Girard, was charged with the crime after her mother alleged that during an argument regarding another family member, Gordon had punched her face. The victim had blood on and around her nose, police said.

Fraud: A Joan Avenue man told authorities he learned from his bank that someone had made a $600 purchase in Columbus with the victim’s credit-card information.

April 13

Identity fraud: A Plymouth Avenue man attempting to file his income taxes electronically discovered his Social Security number had been used without authorization for that purpose.

Criminal mischief: Someone in the 700 block of St. Clair Avenue reportedly shot hundreds of BBs at a fence.

Damage: An officer on routine patrol noticed a broken window at Boardman Medical Supply, 300 N. State St.

April 14

Criminal mischief: Someone used a BB or pellet gun to damage five windows to a business in the 500 block of North State Street. Damage came to $4,000.

LIBERTY

April 9

Arrest: A traffic stop near Logan Way resulted in 40-year-old Brian A. Simione’s arrest. Simione, of Manhattan Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a Trumbull County warrant.

Aggravated assault: Three people told authorities they were assaulted while at a business in the 4500 block of Belmont Avenue. One reported having been cut in the face with a small box cutter; the other two said they had been punched.

Theft: A man who had rented his Arbor Circle residence reported the former tenant stole two couches, an aquarium and two box-spring mattresses.

April 10

Theft: Wayne E. Perry, 21, of Kenilworth Avenue, Warren, faced charges of theft and complicity to theft after a $100 car battery was stolen from a pickup truck at a business in the 1100 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road.

Theft: Kylie M. Blackshear, 18, of Milton Avenue, and Christina M. Morales, 19, of South Lakeview Drive, were charged with theft and possession of criminal tools after $366 worth of merchandise was stolen from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road. The two Youngstown women also used empty purses to conceal the items, police said.

April 11

Arrest: Hubbard police transferred custody of Jayme L. Deshetler, 32, to township authorities. Deshetler, of Lee Road Northeast, Brookfield, was accused of failing to appear in court on a larceny charge.

Drugs: Suspicious activity on Oakland Avenue caught officers’ attention before they handed a summons to 21-year-old Te’Ron Villanueva of West Boston Avenue, Youngstown, charging him with having flakes of a green leafy substance thought to be suspected marijuana. Also, police arrested Dijonn T. Green, 20, of Fifth Avenue, Youngstown on a warrant.

Arrest: Police at the Mahoning County jail picked up Katherine E. Tate of West Earle Avenue, Youngstown. The 52-year-old Tate was wanted on an outstanding township warrant.

Identity theft: A Fifth Avenue man filing his income taxes online realized someone else had used his name and Social Security number.

Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue handed township authorities 21-year-old Timesha C. Nuby of North Lakeview Drive, Youngstown. She was wanted on a warrant.

April 12

Arrest: Officers responded to a possible break-in at a Belmont Avenue business before arresting 25-year-old Alex J. Blosser of Halleck Street, Youngstown. He was wanted on a Pittsburgh warrant.

Counterfeit: Two women reportedly passed a fake $50 bill while in the Liberty Mini Mart drive-through, 3007 Belmont Ave.

Assault/aggravated menacing: A Pulaski, Pa., man told officers a 48-year-old Hubbard man followed him before they pulled into a Homestead Drive driveway, where the man grabbed the accuser’s arm and threatened to kill him.

April 13

Arrest: Police conducting a check at a Motor Inn Drive motel took into custody 41-year-old Herbert Cross of Motor Inn, Liberty, on a probation-violation charge.

HUBBARD

April 7

Identity fraud: A Rebecca Avenue woman discovered two fraudulent charges totaling $5,300 that originated from an Oklahoma Walmart store.

Criminal mischief: A sharp object was used to do $1,200 in damage to a vehicle’s trunk in the 300 block of Hall Avenue.

Possible theft: A worker for Dollar General, 886 W. Liberty St., suspected two juveniles had stolen items before issuing each of them a criminal-trespassing warning.

Identity fraud: A Fox Street man discovered someone in Memphis, Tenn., had applied for a Sears credit card in his name after he received a letter denying him credit.

April 8

Recovered property: An Elmwood Drive man found a Hubbard woman’s debit card in his yard.

Recovered property: Officers in the 100 block of East Liberty Street recovered a license plate to a truck that belongs to a Masury business.

April 9

Attempted theft: Several juveniles reportedly tried to steal cigars and candy from Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save, 529 N. Main St.

Harassment: A Stewart Avenue woman said an 18-year-old Hubbard man yelled at her in front of her residence and sent the accuser unwanted text messages, all apparently related to another person’s personal property at the woman’s home.

April 13

Menacing: A West Liberty Street woman said her former boyfriend made threats toward her, including threatening to strike the accuser with a bar stool.

April 14

Assault: A Hubbard man at a North Main Street business told police another man pushed the accuser from behind, causing him to fall, then struck his jaw, causing an injury.
