Campbell police arrest man on drug charges
CAMPBELL
A 43-year-old city man was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia after police found a gram of suspected crack cocaine in a pill bottle in his possession.
George P. Mrakovich, of Bright Avenue, is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a call for service in the 10 block of Bright Avenue; the 87-year-old caller said several unwanted men were inside her shed, located in the rear of her yard.
When police arrived, they noticed a man — identified as Mrakovich — standing in the shed and surrounded by multiple alcoholic beverage containers on the ground, floor and shelves, and a pill bottle on the shelf next to him. Mrakovich said he had been drinking with friends, who left before police arrived, and that his mother — who owned the house — had called police.
Mrakovich was arrested after police learned crack cocaine was in the pill bottle. He remains in Mahoning County jail.
