Packard concert series includes McCoo and Davis

The Warren Civic Music Association’s 2014-15 concert series will include six shows at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave., including Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., plus Exile and Juice Newton.

All shows start at 7:30 p.m. Season tickets are $80 if purchased before May 31 ($27 for students), and $90 ($30 for students) after that date. Single tickets are $35 ($5 for students). Call 330-399-4885 or go towarrencivicmusic.com. Tickets will be mailed in late August.

Here is a look at the shows:

Paul Bryon, Sept. 18: This charming and gregarious former soloist of Celtic Thunder, named 2012 Irish Tenor of the Year, has been nicknamed “Swanky Tenor” because of his strong vocals, suave performances, and polished showmanship. Byron will sing pop ballads, Broadway hits, and Irish classics.

Vivace, Oct. 12: Vivace is a combination of four pop and classical singers. The versatile and vibrant ensemble creates a powerful harmonic sound and a fresh take on classical and modern music.

The Company Men, Nov. 13: The Company Men, with their style and smooth choreography, this act interweaves hits from multiple genres into fresh harmonies that appeal to all generations.

Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., Dec. 16: The seven-time Grammy Award winning husband-and-wife team are legends, both as lead vocalists of the Fifth Dimension and as a duo. During their multifaceted career, they reached the top of the charts with “Age of Aquarius,” “Wedding Bell Blues,” “Up, Up and Away” and “One Less Bell to Answer.”

Exile and Juice Newton, March 25: All five original members of Exile will be joined on stage with Juice Newton. Exile is known for its pop-country ballads, while Juice Newton, five-time Grammy nominee, is known for her pop and country singing, songwriting and guitar performances.

Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway, April 23: This show re-creates the greatest moments from the finest musicals of the century. Five of Broadway’s talented stars, backed by a band, will perform many beloved songs.
