Black funeral homes will be topic of project


YOUNGSTOWN

The YSU Center for Working Class Studies will host “The Art of Preservation: A Look at the History of African-American Funeral Homes and Rituals in Youngstown, Ohio.”

The program is set for 5:30 p.m. April 24 at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor, 151 Wood St.

It will be presented by Walonda “Missy” Burney as an American studies master’s student’s independent project.

The program is free and open to the public.
