Cora Ams to appear in Highlights magazine

The April 2014 issue of Highlights has published a drawing by 9-year-old Cora Ams in its Nature Watch section.

Ams, the child of John and Yvonne, is a fifth-grader at Boardman Glenwood Middle School. She enjoys drawing, swimming and collecting stuffed animals. Ams wants to be an attorney or a marine biologist when she grows up.

Each year, Highlights readers send the magazine more than 35,000 submissions. The magazine selects work by boys and girls of all ages and from all over the world. By showcasing a representative sample of all the work, Highlights hopes to foster children’s creativity.

Devoted to “Fun with a Purpose,” Highlights for Children, Inc. has helped children become their best selves for generations. Its flagship publication, Highlights magazine, the most recognizable and widely read children’s magazine in the nation, printed its one-billionth copy in June 2006.

Other Highlights offerings include Highlights for Children Book Clubs and the Highlights Catalog, a selection of gifts children will love and parents can trust.
