Boardman students receive high marks at District 5
For over forty years, students from Boardman Middle School bands and orchestra have consistently received high marks at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 5 Events. This year, a combined total of 68 superior ratings and 26 excellent ratings were earned March 22. District 5 includes all of Mahoning, Trumbull and Ashtabula counties.
Center Middle School students earning a superior rating include Riley Adamowicz, Emma Arduin, Andy Beichner, Abigail Culp, Makayla Dohar, Luke Durbin, Colin Frost, Jackie Harker (two solos), Joseph McKinney, Madie Murray, Macy Potts, Colin Russell, Miles Spearman, Molly Slater, Alina Taylor, Tessa Tropea, Danny Turillo, Mackenzie Widrig, Center Brass Quintet, Center Clarinet Trio, Center Flute Trio, Center Horn Trio and the Center Woodwind Trio.
Center Middle School students earning an excellent rating include Abby Beil, Annaliisa Cordova, Connor Hosa, Carl Jacobson, Madeline Hubert and the Center Trumpet Quartet.
Glenwood Middle School students earning a superior rating include Rachel Bendel, Jordyn Bissell, Monica Brown, Becca Choleva (two solos), Emily Garrett, Shawn Korpi, Sophia McGee, Hannah Nitzsky, Zoe Sims, “Little Red Monkey” Flute Trio, “Penny Whistle Song” Flute Trio, “Allegro” Clarinet Trio, “Symphony No.1” Horn Trio, “Oh! Susanna” Flute Quartet and the “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad” Flute Quartet.
Glenwood Middle School students earning an excellent rating include John Anzevino, Jenna Benko, Megan Janak, Jacqueline Le, Gizzy Smith, Jenny Taraszewski and Casey Zaitzew.
Center and Glenwood Orchestra soloists and ensembles earning superior ratings include Annabelle Adkins, Ayed Alemaishat, Hannah Brewer, Julia Castellano, Ryan Coldren, Brandon Chamberlain, Miranda Canacci, Nathan Cornelius, Emily Jackson, Katie Johnson, Tessa Katcher, Haley Lowe, Seth Lucansky, Alexandra Morar, Justin Olsen, Katie Reilly, Katie Ryan, Anna Sherman, Madison Soles, Rithika Vangal (two solos), Aadam Zocolo, Yesenia Andujar/Marina Furman Duet, Katie Ryan/Sarah Murray Duet, Adriane Wentz/CeAnna Curtis Duet, Glenwood Ositis Quartet, Glenwood Padmanabhan Quartet and the Glenwood Zocolo Quintet,.
