Fitch starting pitcher Patrick Gerberry earned the win in 51/3 innings, limiting the Irish to five hits in the shutout. Phil Socha led the charge for Fitch at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Luke Peterson also went 3-for-4 with a run scored. For Ursuline, Vinny Lucente threw six innings, allowing only seven hits and two earned runs.
Canfield 4, Hoover 3

Jimmy Leone pitched six innings for his second win and Edmond Pilolli earned his second save. Nick Luchansky led the Cardinals (4-0) with two hits that included a double and three RBIs. Colton Crissman added an RBI single.

Andrew Armstrong (2-0) pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks, while Jon Saadey singled, scored a run and drove in a run for Mooney (4-0). Gino DiVencenzo doubled and scored. Dylan Greenawalt had two hits for WB (1-4).

Pat Carlozzi had two hits, including a homer, and two RBIs for Poland (3-1), while Jared Burkert had two hits and an RBI and Chase Knodle had two hits. Matt Granger (2-0) pitched six innings to get the win. John Mudrinich had three hits, including a double, and an RBI for Struthers (1-2). Dan DiLoreto and Brandon Kish each added two hits.

Evan Steele had two hits, Michael Drew doubled and Kyle Watson had an RBI for Howland (4-1). Stephen Hornack got the win. Alex Fitzgerald and Dylan Pflager doubled for Harding.

The Raiders defeated the Rebels by mercy rule in their Inter Tri-County League matchup. Greg Dunham struck out 10 in five innings to get the win. Dan Macinga collected two hits and drove in three runs. Goodall and Tyler Rothbauer each had two RBIs. Michael McDonough doubled for Crestview.

MINERAL RIDGE
Greg Strohmeyer struck out 14, walked none and smacked an RBI double in the Rams’ victory. Strohmeyer (2-0) also allowed zero earned runs and have plenty of support at the plate. Mac White singled and doubled and Aaron Frantz had 2 RBI. The Rams tallied six runs in the second inning and Strohmeyer did the rest. Josh Zmuda scored the Trojans’ only run of the game in the third, an unearned one.

Brandon Chamberlain drove in three runs for the Tigers (4-1, 2-0 Inter Tri-County league Tier One). Ryan Kohler, Joey Wrask and Mark Schuler each had two hits while Tice MArtin doubled. Devin Rice took the loss for the Clippers.

NORTH JACKSON
Tyler Totani’s four hits included two doubles for the Bluejays (2-1). He drove in three runs and stole three bases. Matt John drove in four runs with two hits. Jeremy Fitzpatrick triple while winning pitcher Nate Clark (1-0) doubled. Clark struck out five batters and walked two in the four innings he pitched. The Bluejays stole 18 bases. For the Red Devils (0-1), Jared Lee had two hits.

Jon Timko’s three hits included a double and drove in two runs for Western Reserve. Walker Marlowe and Evan Nesbitt both doubled and singled to bring home two runs. Zach Smith doubled. For McDonald, Matt Manna’s two hits included a double.

Winning pitcher Seth Thomas and Zach Zigmont each had two hits. Thomas pitched five innings, allowing one hit and no runs. He struck out three and walked four. For the Vikings, Peyton Aldridge struck out six batters and walked four.
