Mahoning County Habitat to raise first veteran's home Saturday


AUSTINTOWN

Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County and local volunteers will raise the walls of a local veteran’s home Saturday at 3889 New Road.

Volunteers are to arrive at 9 a.m.; the first wall is expected to go up at 9:30 a.m., and construction that day is slated to end at 3 p.m.

This is the first veteran build project for HFHMC.

Volunteers will be coming from Home Savings and Loan of Austintown, Austintown Community Church and friends and family of the homeowner, Marine Corps Staff Sgt. James Skok, an honorably discharged veteran.

General Motors Foundation is the major sponsor for this home.
