An East Side man said he was shot inside his home in the 1000 block of Arch Street about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday after two men broke in.

Police called to the home found 51-year-old Larry Porchia Reynolds stagger out from behind a nearby home and collapse at the side of one of their cruisers in a pool of blood, reports said.

Reynolds said two armed men dressed in all black came through an unlocked back door of his home and when he tried to run away one of the men shot him in the leg, reports said.

He dove out of a window and ran behind another home until police came, reports said. He also may have suffered another wound to the chest, reports said.

A woman in the home with Reynolds said she was in the kitchen when the two men burst in and she dove onto the floor until she heard gunshots, then she ran out of the house to Valley Street, reports said.

Police entered Reynolds’ home and found blood stains, a shell casing, a spent bullet in the living room streaked with blood and a bullet hole in a small television monitor, reports said.

Reynolds is being treated for his wounds at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
