Tippecanoe golf pro receives PING award

Local golf pro Michael Spiech of Tippecanoe Country Club recently was named one of PING’s Top 100 Fitters of 2013.

The award was given to the Canfield club pro for his knowledge of the custom golf club fitting industry and dedicated experience to the craft.

“People know and trust my knowledge and expertise when they’re looking for a custom fit,” Spiech said Monday. “The member support at Tippecanoe has been great.”

Spiech is a graduate of Hubbard High School and played on the Youngstown State University golf team before turning pro at age 19.

He’s been the pro at Tippecanoe for more than 10 years.

This is his third PING award after being named a regional fitter of the year in 1998 and 2010. Spiech has also been featured in PGA Magazine and Golf Digest for his fitting work.
