GIRARD

The state fire marshal’s office is investigating a house fire at 349 N. Davis St. that started shortly after 10 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters responded to the fire — which began in a back bedroom in the southwest corner of the house — not long after receiving the first call at 10:12 a.m., said Fire Chief Kenneth Bornemiss. The house is “basically a total loss,” he added, estimating the damage at about $30,000.

No one was in the house at the time, and no injuries were reported.

She was given a citation for the original charge last week but did not show up in court for arraignment. She is in Mahoning County jail.
