Charity offers bikes for disabled kids

MERCER, PA.

The Mercer County commissioners and Variety the Children’s Charity are providing adaptive bikes to children with disabilities throughout Mercer County. The “My Bike” Mercer County Kickoff will start at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the rotunda of the Mercer County Courthouse, 120 S. Diamond St. There are currently 125 bikes ready to be distributed to eligible children.

The customized bicycles provide children with disabilities the freedom of a bike and the joy of riding alongside family and friends.

Lions restarting

STRUTHERS

An informational meeting to restart the Struthers Lions Club will be at 6:30 p.m. April 17 in the city hall caucus room, 6 Elm St. The club was originally chartered in 1970, but disbanded a few years ago because of dwindling membership. Men and women 18 and older are welcome to join the service organization. Membership is not limited to Struthers residents. Lions Club International requires at least 20 members to charter a club.
