Warren woman cited in Youngstown East Side crash

YOUNGSTOWN — A Warren woman, who drove a pickup truck into a utility pole early this morning on the city’s East Side, has been charged in municipal court with drunken driving and reckless operation.

Katie M. Wells, 30, of Highland Avenue Southwest, was westbound on Himrod Avenue, when the truck she was driving went left of center and sideswiped an eastbound car before running into a utility pole at Bruce Street at 1:05 a.m., police said.

Neither Wells, nor the driver or passenger in the car, had to be transported to a hospital, according to the police report.
