Ohio Lottery employee faces more serious charge

An Ohio Lottery employee from Poland accused of stealing between $50,000 and $60,000 worth of instant lottery tickets will face criminal prosecution instead of undergoing treatment for substance abuse, after an investigation revealed his committing a more serious crime.

In December, David Dragelevich was charged with theft in office for purportedly stealing between $1,000 and $7,500 worth of tickets, according to The Vindicator’s broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV. On Thursday, however, a Mahoning County grand jury handed up its new indictment, which disqualifies Dragelevich from entering a program that treats chemically dependent offenders.

Dragelevich is expected to be arraigned on the charge later this month.
