Funds available to help pay for safe rooms
COLUMBUS — State officials are accepting rebate applications from homeowners who want to dig storm shelters or add safe rooms to their residences for protection against tornadoes.
The Ohio Emergency Management Agency has more than $273,000 in federal funding available for the storm shelters, a total that should cover about 39 safe rooms, said Tamara McBride, a spokeswoman for the agency.
