Campbell police arrest man on drug charges
CAMPBELL
City police arrested a 42-year-old Campbell man — and seized more than 5 grams of suspected marijuana from him — during a traffic stop late Tuesday.
Raul Diaz, of Coitsville Road, is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday on charges of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and for having an obstructed license plate.
Police stopped Diaz at about 10:45 p.m. on 12th Street after spotting his tinted license plate cover, and Diaz gave them consent to search his car.
Officers noticed a strong smell of fresh marijuana coming from the glovebox; inside it they found a pill bottle containing seven individual baggies of suspected marijuana — a total of 5.1 grams.
Nothing else illegal was found on Diaz or in his car.
