Pageant will be new feature of festival

ELLWOOD CITY, PA.
This year, the Ellwood City Arts, Crafts & Food Festival will celebrate its 34th year with something new, a Little Miss and Little Mr. Firecracker Pageant for children 4-through-7 years old.
Contestants will be judged on patriotic costumes, stage presence and answers to two questions chosen by the pageant committee.
All entrants will be awarded a ribbon for participation and must live within a 10-mile radius of Ellwood City.
Contestants also are required to have a local business sponsor them and cover the $25 entry fee.
Businesses will be verbally recognized during the pageant.
For information, visit the Ellwood City Festival website at www.ellwood-city-festival.net/ and download an application form. The deadline for submission is April 30 to the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce, 314 Fifth St., Ellwood City, PA 16117.
There will be an informational meeting for all contestants and their parents or guardians at 6 p.m. May 7 in the main shelter of Ewing Park, which is at Joffre Street and Riverside Drive.
