HILLSVILLE, PA.
A 40-year-old Edinburg area man was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on West State Street (U.S. Route 224), where he was thrown from the motorcycle he was riding, about 1.5 miles east of the Ohio line Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Rodney J. Suszynski, who was eastbound and left the road just east of the Churchill Road overpass at about 8 p.m. for an unknown reason, according to police in Mahoning Township, Lawrence County.
The motorcycle hit the guiderails along the south berm and veered back onto the road, continuing east after Suszynski was ejected onto the road, and coming to rest under the guiderails along the north side berm, police said.
The road was closed in both directions for 5 1/2 hours while police investigated the crash.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Mahoning Township Police through the county 911 dispatching center at (724) 656-9300.
