Home Savings foundation donates $6K to JA

Home Savings Charitable Foundation has donated $6,000 to Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley.

The foundation’s support will be used for Junior Achievement’s K-12 programs across the Mahoning Valley and scholarships for the JA Titan Business Challenge.

“Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley is a volunteer organization in which dedicated individuals give their time in the classroom to teach young people in grades K through 12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs,” said Michele Merkel, president of Junior Achievement. “The JA experience helps to prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs that make their communities more robust and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.”

Pamela Berry, director of the Home Savings Charitable Foundation, said the organization is proud to be able to support JA.

“The group does so much to inspire and prepare young people on a daily basis to succeed in a global economy,” she said. “Financial education is so important in today’s world, and through this partnership with Junior Achievement, we are excited about giving them the opportunity to reach more students with the tools they’ll need to reach long-term success.”
