Campbell cops find drug during traffic stop

CAMPBELL

A Youngstown woman was arrested on drug charges Saturday after being pulled over by police for traffic violations.

At 5:30 p.m., police noticed a car heading north on 12th Street that repeatedly crossed the yellow center line. It had a tinted license plate cover that obstructed the view of the rear plate.

Police stopped the car at 12th Street and Penhale Avenue, and immediately smelled marijuana coming from inside. All three occupants — including the driver, 24-year-old Julissa Ivette Hernandez, and two men — said no drugs were inside.

Shortly afterward, police found an acetaminophen/oxycodone hydrochloride pill on the car floor, for which Hernandez admitted she had no prescription. Police also found $588 in cash.

Hernandez faces charges of possession of drugs and prescription labels required, as well as the two traffic violations. Her court date is Tuesday.
