Youngstown man shot after struggling with gunman


YOUNGSTOWN

A 33-year-old Griffth Street man was shot late Friday when he went to turn off his car alarm.

The man told police he went to turn off his car alarm when he saw a man, dressed in black come around the side of the building holding a handgun.

The man fired the gun and the victim ran at first, but then decided to confront the gunman.

The two fought for the gun and the victim was shot in the side and in the center abdomen.

He was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center.
