YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown City and Regional Prayer Team will meet at 10 a.m. next Saturday for a prayer assembly at Fifth Avenue Community Church, 1361 Fifth Ave.

Prayer leaders are Larry and Betty Stephens.

Justin Fatica, a Catholic evangelist, and Hard as Nails Ministries will be at St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.

The national bus tour, “You’re Amazing,” is stopping at parishes and schools in 11 cities.

The event is geared to junior and senior high school students.

Special services

SALEM

Special services in word and song will be presented by the Revs. John and Filese Hauser at 7 p.m. Oct. 7-10 at Bethseda Ministries, 12740 W. South Range Road. The sessions will include speakers, Son Grace Music Ministries, revival meetings, Christian counselor, marriage and relationship seminars, men and women’s retreats and psalmist.

An offering will be taken.

Life Chain events set

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Life Chain events are planned Oct. 6 at three sites.

A service will be at 1:30 p.m. at Kennedy Square in New Castle followed by a Life Chain at 2. The Rev. Kris Kauffman of Word Alive Church will lead the prayer.

New Wilmington participants will meet at the Huntington Bank parking lot with Pastor Cheryl Vanatsky of Maple Grove Mennonite Church leading prayer.

Ellwood City meeting place is the McDonald’s parking lot with the Rev. Cliff Kauffman, pastor of Word Alive Church.

Pastor appointment

YOUNGSTOWN

Bishop George V. Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown has named the Rev. William Kraynak as pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Ravenna.

It was effective Aug. 31.

Father Kraynak was ordained June 6, 1981, following seminary studies at Mount St. Mary Seminary, Cincinnati.

He served as associate pastor at St. Paul Parish in Salem, St. Louis Parish in Louisville, St. Charles Parish in Boardman and St. Joseph Parish in Canton.

Father Kraynak served as pastor at Sacred Heart of Mary Parish in Harrisburg and St. Joan of Arc Parish in Canton.

Father Kraynak also served as chaplain for the Knights of Columbus, as a member of the Priest Personnel Board, the Council for Catechesis of the Board of Religious Education, the Priest retirement Board and the Priests Council.
