The 10U Canfield Little Cards improved to 4-1 in the YAC with another defensive shut out 20-0 against Struthers Sept. 22.
Canfield had the ball to start the game, starting at their own 35-yard line. Taking up most of the first quarter, Canfield methodically drove down to the Struthers 12-yard line.
Logan Torok faked a handoff to Nathan Fiorenza and ran 12 yards to the endzone. Canfield’s defense forced Struthers to turn the ball over on downs and again drove down to the Struthers 9-yard line.
Torok then passed to Nick Cavoulas at the three and he ran it in with 20 seconds to go in the half. Conor Hritz sacked the Struther quarterback to end the half, leaving Canfield in the lead 14-0.
To start the second half, Struthers was again forced out on downs. Canfield took over at the Struthers 30-yard line. Torok scored from six yards out. The teams drove back and forth in second half with neither able to score again.
