SENIOR SALUTE — BAND EDITION
Name: Rachael Davis; Breann Strasik
Instruments: Cymbals, Oboe; Flute
Q. When did you start playing your instrument?
A. Davis: I started playing the cymbals in the ninth grade for Marching Band. I began playing the oboe in the fifth grade and that is the instrument I play for Concert Band.
Strasik: The summer before fifth grade, my dad brought home my first flute, so almost eight years.
Q. If you could play any other instrument, what would it be and why?
A. Davis: I would want to play the tuba so I could dot the “i” in Script Ohio.
Strasik: I would love to play the drums because the drum line seems to have the most fun.
Q. Best memory of being in band/marching band?
A. Davis: Playing at football games and hanging out with my friends.
Strasik: Getting to go behind the scenes in Disney, and marching with all the characters on the Florida trip my Freshman year.
Q. Why is music important to you?
A. Davis: Music is a way to express myself even when I don’t have the words to say how I feel.
Strasik: The arts in general are really important to me, so music falls under that by showing me we are all connected through different songs.
Q. What college do you hope to attend/intended major?
A. Davis: I am planning on attending YSU and majoring in Accounting.
Strasik: I plan to continue on in visual arts with a graphic design major at CCAD in Columbus.
