Andrews Avenue Business Group has Friday ceremony

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

A rededication, ribbon-cutting ceremony and gathering of the Andrews Avenue Business Group will be next Friday at the grassy area between the westbound freeway between Access Road and Scott Street.

Ribbon-cutting and announcements will begin at 2 p.m. There will be a limited half-hour road closing for the ceremony from 2:15 to 2:45 p.m. From 3 to 4:30 p.m., food and refreshments will be offered in the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center’s Scott Street parking lot.

After multiple decades of anticipation, the Andrews Avenue Industrial Parkway has been repaved with curbs, new entry accesses, grass strip and sidewalks.

Along with management personnel from Andrews Avenue businesses, Oak Park and Scott Street residents are invited. The event will be the first time Andrews Avenue businesses, city representatives and area residents will gather. In the event of heavy rain, the event will move to the Youngstown Tube Slitting Division lot and building at 745 Andrews Ave.
