POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman Township:

Sept. 20

Harassment: Randall L. Hover, 25, of Oles Avenue, Boardman, was picked up on a telecommunications-harassment charge after a West Boulevard man reported having received six months’ worth of such text messages.

Assault/menacing: A Clifton Drive man reported having been pushed and threatened with bodily harm during a property dispute.

Theft: Three men in their 20s removed a beverage and other items from Family Dollar, 4028 South Ave.

Breaking and entering: Someone pried open a side door to a home in the 1800 block of Wingate Road and removed copper from the basement.

Theft: A woman told officers a former tenant stole a stove and a refrigerator from a residence in the 200 block of Charles Avenue.

Harassment: A Mathews Road woman said she received unwanted calls and text messages.

Arrest: Frank J. Consiglio of Mercedes Place, Canfield, surrendered on two township warrants charging the 20-year-old with failing to appear in court.

Assault: A Shields Road woman told officers another woman struck her head multiple times during an argument regarding money owed on a refrigerator the accuser had sold.

Arrest: Michael D. Dials, 26, of Mathews Road, Boardman, was booked at the Mahoning County jail on a warrant charging obstructing official business.

Theft: Aleah A. Good, 21, of Prospect Street, Salem, and 34-year-old Frank J. Crone, who listed Youngstown addresses on Hazelwood Avenue and Regal Drive, were charged with stealing merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. Both also were wanted on warrants.

Theft: A man stole two energy drinks from Walmart.

Theft: Mia S. York of Breaden Street, Youngstown, faced charges of theft and obstructing official business after a $60 Android phone was stolen from Walmart. York, 30, also was accused of providing a phony name and Social Security number.

Sept. 21

Domestic violence: James Morales, 53, of Allen Drive, Boardman, was charged with the crime after a Lynn Mar Avenue woman alleged that during an argument, Morales had choked and pushed her onto a vehicle’s hood. The accuser had scratches to her chest, arm and wrist, a report said.

Theft: James C. Rosa, 47, of Hamilton Street, New Castle, Pa., was charged in the theft of two ink cartridges from Walmart.

Theft: A Youngstown boy, 11, and a Struthers boy, 15, were charged with stealing socks and clothing from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall. The older boy also faced one count of receiving stolen property when, police said, he had clothing and earrings that had been taken from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: Timothy M. Williams, 43, was charged with stealing an $8 leather belt from Dollar General, 271 Boardman-Canfield Road. Williams, of Washington Boulevard, Boardman, also was wanted on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on a theft charge.

Theft/forgery: An Orlo Lane woman reported 11 checks were stolen, forged and cashed for a total of $15,300 without permission.

Theft: Two people stole a $500, 32-inch TV from Value City Furniture Store, 443 Boardman-Poland Road.

Attempted burglary: Someone damaged a rear door to a home in the 10 block of Meadowbrook Avenue, apparently in an effort to break in.

Aggravated menacing: A Grover Drive boy told police a caller threatened to shoot him, slit his throat and kill other people in the residence.

Theft: Three 13-year-old Youngstown girls were charged with stealing 15 undergarments valued at $127 from the J.C. Penney store in Southern Park Mall.

Sept. 22

Theft: Campbell police handed 32-year-old Charmaine Moore, who was wanted on a theft warrant, to township police. Moore, of Cohasset Drive, Youngstown, was accused of stealing $30 worth of merchandise, including costume jewelry, from Hair Depot, 4026 Market St.

Counterfeit: A man who sought to buy a money order at a Boardman-Canfield Road store reported having discovered one of his $100 bills was phony.

Theft: A $100 TV and several light bulbs were removed from a room at the Boardman Inn, 7109 Market St.

Trespassing: A Jaguar Drive woman reported an intoxicated neighbor came to her residence, then made unwanted sexual comments to her and inappropriate statements to her 10-year-old daughter.

Theft: A man stole an undetermined quantity of merchandise from Family Dollar, 4028 South Ave.

Menacing: A man told authorities he allowed a homeless man to stay at his West Boulevard residence temporarily, but that the man reportedly refused to leave and threatened to harm the accuser if he tried to get the man to leave.

Breaking and entering: Someone forcibly entered a home in the 100 block of Indianola Road via the front door, damaging the handle and frame.

Theft: A man noticed his wallet missing from his Lealand Avenue residence.

Burglary: To a garage in the 600 block of Angiline Drive, where a home-owner saw a man in a pickup truck before he fled.

Theft: A man in his 30s took five iPhone cases from Walgreens Pharmacy, 525 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Counterfeit: A fake $10 bill was passed at TJ Maxx, 717 Boardman-Poland Road.

Harassment: A West Boulevard boy reported having gotten 24 Facebook messages, apparently from someone posing as another person.

Theft: A woman in the 800 block of Moyer Avenue reported the theft of two children’s tricycles.

Sept. 23

Harassment: An Oakridge Drive man said he’s received three weeks’ worth of periodic unwanted calls.

Theft: A $500 air-conditioning unit was taken from a vacant structure in the 5000 block of Southern Boulevard.

Attempted fraud: A Lynn Mar Avenue woman told officers she received at least four cellphone calls from a man claiming to represent the Social Security Administration and who tried to get her to make a suspicious money-order transaction.

Theft: A woman reported two rings worth a total of $11,000 stolen while working at a Sahara Trail business.

Fraud: A South Cadillac Drive man told authorities he gave another person $5,000 to replace his roof but that the work was never completed.

Arrest: Authorities received a tip about a wanted person at a Market Street motel, where they took into custody 50-year-old Dennis M. Graves, who listed Boardman addresses on Southern Boulevard and Market Street. Graves was wanted on Niles warrants charging two felony counts each of receiving stolen property and forgery.

Identity theft: An Austintown woman at the Southern Park Mall found out her identity had been used without authorization to obtain a cellphone account.

Theft: Eighty prescription medications and $36 were removed from a vehicle in the 4400 block of Lockwood Boulevard.

Misuse of a credit card: An Erskine Avenue woman learned her credit card had been used to make three unauthorized transactions totaling $300 at a Southern Park Mall store.

Identity fraud: A Lynn Mar Avenue woman told police a collection agency contacted her regarding a $3,463 loan that she had never authorized.

Harassment: A West Boulevard man said he started getting threatening calls after having asked someone to leave his apartment.

Theft: Two men stole four pairs of blue jeans and four shirts from the J.C. Penney store.

Aggravated menacing: An employee with a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant reported a customer threatened to cut her throat after becoming irate when she refused to change a TV channel, then asked him to pay his bill and leave.

Theft/vandalism: Eighty-four prescription medications were stolen from a car at Southern Park Mall. Also, the vehicle was found with a damaged front tire.

Sept. 24

Criminal mischief: A man in the 100 block of Jennette Drive noticed tire tracks on his lawn. The damage came to $500.
