Bookmobile will hit the road for Trumbull County stops

Warren-Trumbull County Public Library’s Bookmobile, which is celebrating 75 years of bookmobile service, will be open to the public at these free events:

On Saturday, the bookmobile will be open for tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the Main Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW. Bookmobile scrapbooks will be on display. A free bubble show for children of all ages will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the library, where anniversary cake and punch will be served at 1:30 p.m.

On Oct. 5, the bookmobile will be open from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot at the Cortland Branch Library, 578 Lakeview Drive; from 11 a.m. to noon at the Howland Branch Library, 9095 East Market St.; and from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Liberty Branch Library, 415 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, where it will be the featured vehicle in a free Touch-A-Truck event for children.

The bookmobile is a full-service library carrying adult, teen and children’s books, audiobooks, music CDs and movie DVDs.

The bus holds approximately 3,500 items; 197,743 items were checked out by 19,437 patrons in 2012. It makes more than 100 stops every three weeks around Trumbull County.
