A man was stabbed and his attacker also was hurt in a dispute between neighbors, Girard Police Chief Jeff Palmer said.
The fight occurred at 9:04 p.m. Saturday at 131 Churchill Road, Palmer said. The victim, Joshua Meckulch, 19, lives at that address, he said.
Palmer said Jonathon Karnes, 28, went to Meckulch’s house and confronted him while he was sitting on his porch. He accused Meckulch of calling the police on him, Palmer said.
He said Meckulch stepped off the porch and Karnes stabbed him in the cheek with a knife. Meckulch’s father came out of the house, and they held Barnes down until police came.
Palmer said both men were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where Barnes was treated for leg and facial injuries.
Bond for Barnes was set at $2,500, or 10 percent of $25,000, and he was placed on house arrest, according to Girard Municipal Court. He is expected back in court for a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. today. SClB
