The owners of St. Elizabeth Southwoods Imaging Center, Radiology Consultants Inc. and Humility of Mary Health Partners (HMHP), will close the center effective Sept. 30 for economic reasons.

The facility at 250 DeBartolo Place, while named St. Elizabeth Southwoods Imaging Center, is not owned by St. Elizabeth Health Center. The space is rented, and the lease expires at the end of the year, according to a hospital statement.

Sixteen employees are affected by the closing of the center. Every effort will be made to ensure their placement within HMHP. Employees will be able to apply for vacant positions within HMHP, the statement said.

Patients of the center will receive a letter informing them of the closure. They may access their images and records by calling 330-726-2595. Patients with questions about billing records can call 877-883-5818.

Mammography patients may pick up their films at St. Elizabeth Southwoods Imaging until Nov. 22. Effective Dec. 2, the films will be available at the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center at St. Elizabeth Health Center, 1044 Belmont Ave., Youngstown.

Radiology Consultants, one of the businesses in Southwoods Imaging, is relocating to Hitchcock Imaging, 7250 West Blvd., Boardman, according to Jim Fulciniti, business manager.

“We are an independent practice renting space and will continue to see patients,” he said.

To schedule future medical examinations and X-rays, the following facilities are available: Austintown Urgent Care Center, Hitchcock Imaging of Southwoods, Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, Northside Medical Center, St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, St. Elizabeth Emergency and Diagnostic Center in Austintown and St. Elizabeth Health Center, said Fulciniti.
