Homeless man starts trash fire behind Mahoning Plaza

YOUNGSTOWN

Fire crews had to put out a small trash fire behind the Mahoning Plaza about 8:35 p.m. Monday. Reports say the fire was set by a homeless person.

Crews were called to the 3377 Mahoning Ave. plaza by police, who said the homeless man who set the fire to keep warm had already left. Police had already extinguished most of the fire, reports said.

Fire reports said police think they know who started the fire but do not know where to find the man.
