Community meeting set on new Howland stadium

HOWLAND — The Howland Community Stadium Foundation invites the public to attend a kick-off meeting for a new Howland Community Stadium 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Leo’s Ristorante, 7042 E. Market St.

The stadium would enhance the band, football, soccer, physical education and springtime softball and baseball programs, organizers say.

The construction would involve no public money and would save the school district over $1 million in maintenance over the life of the field, said Kevin Wyndham, foundation president.
